Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 2nd November 2020

Week commencing Monday 2nd November 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Monday 30th November 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.

Buckingham Road, Bletchley : Monday 6th July to Monday 7th December 2020. Due to East-West Rail works by the bridge this road will be closed during this period and Z&S Transport route 50 will divert. From Buckingham Road, the buses will travel via Sherwood Drive, Whalley Drive, Rickley Lane, Whaddon Way, Watling Street and Standing Way to rejoin the normal route at Saxon Street (and vice versa). As such this service will not serve Bletchley Bus Station, passengers for here are advised to alight at the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Sherwood Drive and follow the signs to the bus station.

Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Horton Road, Ivinghoe : Monday 5th October 2020 to Friday 27th November 2020. Due to works on the canal bridge this road will be closed during this period. After picking up at Ivinghoe the Green the school time 164 journeys will divert via the B488, upper Icknield Way, Vicarage Road, Cheddington Road and resuming normal route at High Street Cheddington. Please see the revised timetable for service 883. Please note routes will not be able to serve stops on Horton Road, Station Road, Ivinghoe or Cheddington Station.

Station Road, Marsh Gibbon : Friday 16 October 2020 to Tuesday 3rd November 2020 (24 / 7). Due to East-West rail works near the Rail bridge this road will be closed on these days. Bus routes 16 and 18 will run as normal to Twyford then turn at ‘The Crown’ and travel into Marsh Gibbon via Chardon, as such the ‘Manor House’ stops on Bicester Road, Twyford and the ‘Poundon Turn’ stops will not be served on these days.

Station Road, Quainton : Monday 19th October 2020 to July 2021. Due to works by HS2 this road will be closed between the A41 and the Crossroads junction with Quainton Road. Bus route 16 will travel into Quainton from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Spinfield Lane, Marlow : Monday 19th to Saturday 31st October 2020. Due to utility works on this road bus routes 155 and 160 will not be able to serve Spinfield Lane, Terrington Hill or Barnards Hill during this period.

Meadowcroft, Aylesbury : Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th November 2020, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Due to urgent Transport for Buckinghamshire patching works two parts of this road will be closed in two phases as follows. The closures will follow one another and not occur at the same time.

• Phase 1 : The closure will be between Weedon Road and Coventon Road. Towards town bus route 2 will run as normal as far as St Peter’s Avenue then turn right onto Coventon Road and divert via Stonehaven Road, Bicester Road and resume normal route at Weedon Road. The ‘Savenake’ and ‘Coventon Road’ stops on Meadowcroft and the ‘Holman Street’ stop on Coventon Road will not be served during this closure.
• Phase 2 : The closure will be near in front of the John Kennedy PH. Buses 2, 4 and 5 will divert via Belgrave road, Jackson Road and Bicester Road and will not serve the ‘John Kennedy’ stops during this closure.

Launton Road, Marsh Gibbon : Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th November 2020. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed. Bus route 18 will divert via Tompkins Road, Townsend and the A41, resuming normal route on Bicester Road, Launton.

Grenville Road / Carrington Road / Churchill Avenue, Aylesbury : Thursday 5th November 2020, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this roundabout will be closed on this night. Stops on Churchill Avenue between Russell Avenue and Church Square will not be served on this night.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Heath End Road, Flackwell Heath : Tuesday 27th October 2020 to Friday 6th November 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas the two ‘Stag PH’ stops will be closed on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Rugwood Road’ stops instead.

New Road, High Wycombe : Friday 30th October 2020 to Tuesday 3rd November 2020. Due to Thames Water works the stop for journeys towards town, located between Bookerhill Road and Lane End Road will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Roundwood Road’ stop located on Bookerhill Road instead.

Springhill Road, Grendon Underwood : Saturday 31st October 2020 to Wednesday 4th November 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Prison Gates’ bus stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to wait where safe outside the works area and hail to the driver to stop.

Totteridge Road, High Wycombe : Saturday 31st October 2020 to Wednesday 4th November 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Duke Street’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Lucas Road’ stops instead.

Aylesbury Road, Wendover : Sunday 1st to Wednesday 4th November 2020. Due to Thames Water works both the ‘Health Centre’ stops will be closed on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Perry Street’ or ‘Clock Tower’ stops instead.
