Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 23rd November 2020

Week commencing Monday 23rd November 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Monday 18th May 2020 to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.

Buckingham Road, Bletchley : Monday 6th July 2020 to Monday 7th December 2020. Due to East-West Rail works by the bridge this road will be closed during this period and Z&S Transport route 50 will divert. From Buckingham Road, the buses will travel via Sherwood Drive, Whalley Drive, Rickley Lane, Whaddon Way, Watling Street and Standing Way to rejoin the normal route at Saxon Street (and vice versa). As such this service will not serve Bletchley Bus Station, passengers for here are advised to alight at the ‘Railway Station’ stops on Sherwood Drive and follow the signs to the bus station.

Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August 2020 to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Station Road, Marsh Gibbon and Twyford Road, Poundon : Until Friday 27th November 2020. Due to East-West rail works these roads will be closed during this period. Bus routes 16 and 18 will run as normal to Twyford then turn at ‘The Crown’ and travel into Marsh Gibbon via Chardon, as such the ‘Manor House’ stops on Bicester Road, Twyford and the ‘Poundon Turn’ stops will not be served on these days.

Station Road, Quainton : Monday 19th October 2020 to July 2021. Due to works by HS2 this road will be closed between the A41 and the Crossroads junction with Quainton Road. Bus route 16 will travel into Quainton from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Coronation Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 18th to Tuesday 24th November 2020, 8.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Thames Water works this road will be closed. The 1955 route 8 journey from High Wycombe Bus Station will not serve Cressex on these nights.

Banks Road, Haddenham : Saturday 21st November 2020 and Monday 23rd November 2020, 9.30am to 3pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire repair works this road will be closed at these times. Towards Thame, bus routes 111, 120 and 280 will divert via Churchway and Station Road, then turn right to serve Haddenham & Thame Parkway Station and resume normal route to Thame (and vice versa towards Aylesbury). As such stops on Thame Road (between the Station and Haddenham Village Centre) and on Tacks Lane will not be served at these times. The nearest served stops will be on Woodways or from the Station forecourt.

Bois Lane, Amersham : Monday 23rd November 2020, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire repairs part of this road will be closed. As such after serving the stops on Sycamore Road, the 71 and 73 will divert via North Road and the A416 Amersham Road. Will then serve serve Waterside, Pheasant Rise and Chessmount Rise. As such the buses will not be able to serve stops on Bois Lane or Bois Moor Road between these times.

Aylesbury End / Station Road, Beaconsfield : Monday 23rd November 2020 to Wednesday 9th December 2020, 7am to 7pm (excluding weekends). Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire resurfacing works these roads will be closed between Maxwell Road and Wycombe End. The following buses will divert as below and will not be able to serve Station Road, Aylesbury End and Maxwell Road (except where stated).

• Service 102 will divert along the A40 London End and will also not serve stops on Park Lane, Amersham Road.
• Services 103 & 104 will divert via the A40 London End & A355 Park Lane / Amersham Road and will not serve stops on Aylesbury End, Station Road or Maxwell Road.
• Service 577 (to / from Beaconsfield High School) will divert via Maxwell Road, Park Lane and the A40 London End terminating at ‘The Saracen’s Head PH’.
• Service 581 will operate from the Saracens Head PH stop and run via London End.

A shuttle service will operate to provide a link between Beaconsfield New and Old Town and to the diverted services. This will run every 20 minutes (on the hour, 20 past & 20 to the hour) between ‘The Saracen’s Head PH’ stop on London End to the ‘Waitrose Stops’ on Penn Road via Maxwell Road.

West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Friday 27th November 2020 and Friday 4th December 2020, 8pm to 6am. Due to Buckinghamshire Council works part of this road will be closed during these times. Bus route 40 will divert via Desborough Avenue and Desborough Road and will not serve the ‘Brook Street’ or ‘Riverside’ stops on these nights.

Bus Stop Suspensions

Moreton Road, Buckingham : Monday 2nd November 2020 to Monday 14th December 2020. Due to SGN works the two ‘Market Hill’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the stop on the High Street instead.

A413 Winslow Road, Padbury : Monday 16th to Saturday 28th November 2020, Due to works on behalf of Lagan Homes the Springfields stops will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use the New Inn stops instead.

A4 Bath Road, Taplow : Wednesday 18th to Wednesday 25th November 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cloud HQ the ‘Ellington Road’ stops for journeys towards Slough will be suspended during these days. Passengers are advised to use ‘The Dumb Bell PH’ stop instead.

Little Marlow Road, Marlow : Thursday 19th November 2020 to Thursday 3rd December 2020. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas the two ‘Foxes Piece’ stops will be suspended during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Spittal Street’ stops on Chapel Street instead.

Finnings Road, Lane End : Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th November 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Village Hall’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to wait where safe outside the traffic management area and hail to the driver.

Pond Approach, Holmer Green : Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th November 2020. Due to Affinity Water works the two ‘Browns Road’ stops will be suspended on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Copners Drive’ stops instead.

Kingsmead Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 25th November 2020 to Tuesday 1st December 2020. Due to Cadent Gas works the two ‘Woodside Road’ stops will be suspended on these days passengers are advised to use the ‘Dolphin Court’ stops instead.
