Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 21st December 2020

Week commencing Monday 21st December 2020 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Tilehouse Lane, Denham : Due to the current lockdown Wyatts Covert Caravan Park has been closed. Buses routes 581 and 582 will not travel here until further notice.

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Until further notice. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.

Missenden Road / Church Street, Chesham : Monday 24th August 2020 to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Station Road, Quainton : Monday 19th October 2020 to July 2021. Due to works by HS2 this road will be closed between the A41 and the Crossroads junction with Quainton Road. Bus route 16 will travel into Quainton from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period. Update 8 December 2020: Due to safety concerns a weight restriction has been placed on the bridge north of the crossroads, route 16 will need to continue to divert across the crossroads via the unnamed road and Lee Road into Quainton. As such no stops on Station Road, Quainton will be served until further notice. The nearest stops will be on The Green in Quainton or along the A41 Aylesbury Road.

Little Horwood Road, Great Horwood : Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Western Power works this road will be closed on these days. After serving the High Street bus route 50 will divert via Nash Road, the A421, Warren Road and Shucklow Hill. ‘The Green’ and ‘Townsend Cottages’ stops will not be served.

Galley Lane, Great Brickhill : Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Anglian Water works this road will be closed on these days. Bus route 162 will serve the stops on Pound Lane, Rotten Row and Lower Way as normal then divert back along Ivy Lane and the A4146 to Bletchley and vice versa. The ‘Mill Lane’ and ‘Galleylane Farm’ stops on Galley Lane will not be served on these days.

Main Street, Tingewick : Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd December 2020. Due to Anglian Water works part of this road will be closed. Bus route 132 will need to divert and will not be able to serve stops on Main Street on these days.

Moreton Road, Buckingham : Tuesday 5th January 2021 to Wednesday 31st March 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the section between Summerhouse Hill and Western Avenue will be closed during this period. Bus routes 131, 132 and 151 will divert via Western Avenue and will be unable to serve the ‘Market Hill’ stops or the town bound ‘Western Avenue’ stop. Passengers can use the Bus Stand on the High Street or they will operate a Hail & Ride service along Western Avenue. Please note that from the 4 January 2021 these will operate to revised timetables and route 18 will no longer travel along Moreton Road to Maids Moreton.

Steeple Claydon Road, Padbury / Herds Hill, Steeple Claydon : Wednesday 6th January 2021 to Wednesday 17th February. Due to East-West Rail works these roads will be closed during this period. From Bicester bus route 18 will run as normal to Steeple Claydon then turn back along West Street and divert via the road to Gawcott, Lenborough Road and resuming normal route on London Road at the ‘Lenborough Turn’ stop towards Buckingham (and vice versa towards Bicester). As such the following stops will not be served by route 18: ‘The Library’ stop on Queen Catherine Road in Steeple Claydon, the Main Street stops in Padbury or the Bicester bound ‘Lenborough Turn’ stop.

Bus Stop Closures

Buckingham Road, Edgcott : Tuesday 15th to Monday 21st December 2020. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Village Hall’ stops will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to wait where safe away from the works and hail clearly to the driver to stop.

Chiltern Avenue, Amersham : Tuesday 5th to Monday 11th January 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the two ‘Leisure Centre’ stops will not be served on these dates. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Woodside Road instead.

Dashwood Avenue, High Wycombe : Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th January 2021. Due to works on behalf of Thames Water the stop nearest the Mill End Road junction for journeys towards High Wycombe will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Prestwood Close’ stop instead, located further along Dashwood Avenue.

Aylesbury Road, Aston Clinton : Thursday 7th January 2021, 8.00am to 4.00pm. Due to works on behalf of Thames Water the two ‘The Vatch’ stops will not be served between these times. Passengers are advised to use the next stops further along Aylesbury Road instead.
