Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 11th January 2021

Week commencing Monday 11th January 2021 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Tilehouse Lane, Denham : Due to the current lockdown Wyatts Covert Caravan Park has been closed. Buses routes 581 and 582 will not travel here until further notice.

Whielden Street / Whielden Lane, Amersham : Until further notice. Due to a road closure buses will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill and will not serve stops on The Broadway, Whielden Street or the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. For passengers needing to travel to Amersham Hospital a shuttle bus will operate between Gore Hill and the Hospital. Please see the Amersham Hospital shuttle timetable for details.

Station Road, Quainton (Between the Crossroads junction and the A41) : Until August 2021. Due to works by HS2 this section of road will be closed. Bus route 16 will travel to / from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Station Road, Quainton (Between the Crossroads junction and Lower Street) : Until further notice. Due to safety concerns a weight restriction has been placed on the bridge north of the crossroads, route 16 buses will have to access Quainton via the unnamed road and Lee Road into Quainton. As such no stops on Station Road, Quainton will be served. The nearest stops will be on The Green in Quainton or along the A41 Aylesbury Road.

B4032 Swanbourne Road, Mursley : Monday 4th to Tuesday 19th January 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period between Mursley and Drayton Parslow. Towards Milton Keynes the 50 will need to divert via Main Street in Mursley, Whaddon Road, the A421, Buckingham Road, Newton Road and Bletchley Road into Newton Longville onto Drayton Parslow then double back to Newton Longville to resume the normal route to Bletchley and Milton Keynes (and vice versa for the return trip). As such the route will operate to a revised timetable between these dates. The ‘Richmond Lodge’ and ‘Merrymead’ stops between Mursley and Drayton Parslow will not be served during this time.

Moreton Road, Buckingham : Monday 4th January 2021 to Wednesday 31st March 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the section between Summerhouse Hill and Western Avenue will be closed during this period. Bus routes 131, 132 and 151 will divert via Western Avenue and will be unable to serve the ‘Market Hill’ stops or the town bound ‘Western Avenue’ stop. Passengers can use the Bus Stand on the High Street or they will operate a Hail & Ride service along Western Avenue. Please note that from the 4 January 2021 these will operate to revised timetables and route 18 will no longer travel along Moreton Road to Maids Moreton.

Steeple Claydon Road, Padbury / Herds Hill, Steeple Claydon : Wednesday 6th January 2021 to Wednesday 17th February 2021. Due to East-West Rail works these roads will be closed during this period. From Bicester bus route 18 will run as normal to Steeple Claydon then turn back along West Street and divert via the road to Gawcott, Lenborough Road and resuming normal route on London Road at the ‘Lenborough Turn’ stop towards Buckingham (and vice versa towards Bicester). As such the following stops will not be served by route 18: ‘The Library’ stop on Queen Catherine Road in Steeple Claydon, the Main Street stops in Padbury or the Bicester bound ‘Lenborough Turn’ stop.

High Street, High Wycombe : Monday 1st January 2021 to Friday 5th February 2021 (excluding weekends), 6.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed at these times during this period. Passengers are advised to use either the stops on Castle Street or in the Bus Station instead.

Sheepcote Dell Road, Holmer Green : Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th January 2021, 9.00am to 3.00pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed. Bus routes 1 and 1A will divert via Earl Howe Road and ‘The Pond’, ‘The Bat and Ball PH’ stops and all stops on Sheepcote Dell Road will not be served at these times.

Bryants Bottom Road, Bryants Bottom : Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th February 2021. Due to Affinity Water works this road will be closed . Passengers are advised that buses 333 and 334 will divert and not serve stops on Warrendene or Bryants Bottom Road on these days.

Bus Stop Closures

Boundary Road, Loudwater, High Wycombe : Tuesday 5th to Tuesday 12th January 2021. Due to works on behalf of Cadent Gas the two ‘Hedge Lea’ stops will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use either the ‘Knaves Beech’ or ‘Boundary Place’ stops instead.

Nalders Road, Chesham : Wednesday 6th to Tuesday 12th January 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the ‘Sayward Path’ stop will not be served. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Nalders Road’ stop instead.

Hughenden Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 6th to Wednesday 13th January 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the ‘Beaconsfield Arms’ stop for journeys into the town centre will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Coates Lane’ stop further back along Hughenden Road for routes 300, 333 and 334 or the stop opposite the Student Village on Hughenden Avenue for routes 30 and 653.

Coombe Lane, Naphill : Thursday 7th to Monday 11th January 2021. Due to works on behalf of Affinity Water the two ‘Coombe Farm’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hunts Hill Lane’ stops on Main Road, Naphill instead.

Dashwood Avenue, High Wycombe : Sunday 10th to Wednesday 13th January 2021. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Prestwood close’ stops will not be served on this day. Passengers are advised to use the ‘The Half Moon PH’ stops instead.

Totteridge Road, High Wycombe : Monday 11th to Friday 15th January 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the two ‘Turners Drive’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Hollis Road instead.

Micklefield Road, High Wycombe : Monday 11th to Friday 15th January 2021. Due to Thames Water works the stop opposite Herbert Road South will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Buckingham Drive’ stop instead.

Amersham Road, Hazlemere : Tuesday 12th January 2021, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works on behalf of Openreach the ‘Holy Trinity Church’ stop for journeys into High Wycombe will not be served at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘St John’s Road’ stop instead.

Swains Lane, Flackwell Heath : Tuesday 12th to Monday 18th January 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works both Swains Lane stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use ‘The Common’ stops on Straight Bit instead.

Chesham Road, Bellingdon : Tuesday 12th to Monday 18th January 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the ‘Johnson’s Farm’ stop will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to wait where safe away from the works and hail to the driver to stop.

Gordon Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th January 2021. Due to Thames Water works the stop on Gordon Road will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Chichester Close’ stop on Bowerdean Road instead.

Lower Road, Stoke Mandeville : Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th January 2021. Due to works on behalf of Virgin Media the two ‘Ambulance Station’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Main Gate’ stop within Stoke Mandeville Hospital instead.

Bicester Road, Fleet Marston : Wednesday 13th to Tuesday 19th January 2021. Due to works on behalf of HS2 the two ‘Cranwell Gate’ stops will not be served on these days.
