Police appeal for witnesses following incident of dangerous driving on the M40 and in High Wycombe
An incident of dangerous driving on the M40 and in High Wycombe which resulted in a police pursuit has resulted in an appeal for witnesses by Thames Valley Police.
On Saturday 23rd January 2021, at about 4pm, a black BMW M135i which had been seen driving dangerously at Junction Six (Watlington) of the M40 failed to stop for roads policing officers.
The car continued to drive dangerously southbound along the M40 at excessive speeds.The vehicle then left the motorway at Junction One (Denham) where it made a return journey to Junction Four at High Wycombe.
Police officers continued to pursue the BMW through High Wycombe for a short period. The two occupants of the vehicle then decamped from their vehicle in Hornbeam Close, Cressex and were then detained near Fernie Fields Park.
Investigating officer, PC Jonathan Housby, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: ‘We are continuing to investigate this incident of dangerous driving which took place along the M40 motorway and then through part of High Wycombe.
I am appealing for anyone who has dash cam footage which shows the vehicle driving dangerously.

Police have arrested two people in connection with the incident they are:
- A 22 year old man from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of driving dangerously, failing to stop when required to do so by police and driving while disqualified.
- A 22 year old from High Wycombe was been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and aiding or abetting dangerous driving.
Both of those arrested have both been released under investigation.
