Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 5th April 2021

Week commencing Monday 5th April 2021 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Public Holidays

On the following public holidays most bus services will run to their current Sunday timetables. Services without a Sunday timetable will not operate. Passengers are advised to check with the respective bus company if they are planning to travel on these dates:

  • Good Friday : 2nd April 2021
  • Easter Monday : 5th April 2021

Bus Diversions

Station Road, Quainton (between the Crossroads junction and the A41) : Until August 2021. Due to works by HS2 this section of road will be closed. Bus route 16 will travel to / from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Station Road, Quainton, (between the Crossroads junction and Lower Street) : Until further notice. Due to safety concerns a weight restriction has been placed on the bridge north of the crossroads, route 16 buses will have to access Quainton via Fidlers Field and Lee Road into Quainton. As such no stops on Station Road, Quainton will be served. The nearest stops will be on The Green in Quainton or along the A41 Aylesbury Road.

Crest Road / John Hall Way, High Wycombe : Monday 25th January 2021 to Friday 3rd September 2021. Due to changes at the junction by Transport for Buckinghamshire Crest Road will be closed and works taking place on John Hall Way. As such the stop opp ‘Next’ and the ‘Empire Cinema’ stops will not be served during these months. Passengers are advised to use the ‘YMCA’ stop or the ‘Asda’ stop on Holmers Farm Way instead.

Station Road, Marsh Gibbon / Poundon : Monday 22nd February 2021 to Wednesday 7th April 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed. After serving ‘the Crown’ stops bus routes 16 and 18 will turn back and divert via Charndon, resuming normal route in Marsh Gibbon. The ‘Poundon Turn’ and ‘Manor House’ stops will not be served during this period.

Little Horwood Road, Winslow : Monday 1st March 2021 to Monday 14th June 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. From Swanbourne buses will enter Winslow by serving Magpie Way, High Street, Horn Street, Vicarage Road and High Street before continuing to The Horwoods. Journeys from Little Horwood will operate via Great Horwood and Winslow and serve the ‘Magpie Estate’ stop on Magpie Way before continuing to Swanbourne. Due to this and other closures along the route, service 50 will operate to a revised timetable until further notice.

Ledborough Lane, Beaconsfield : Thursday 18th March 2021 to Saturday 5th June 2021. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. Carousel’s BB11 schoolday route will divert via Amersham Road and Maxwell Road and will not serve Wilton road or Station Road.

Church Street, Chesham : Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th April 2021, 9.00am to 3.00pm. Due to works on this junction the 177 Tuesday and Thursday bus will divert during this period. After serving Hyde Heath buses will turn back round at the junction with Frieth Hill and will not serve stops on Missenden Road or Church Street.

Bus Stop Closures

A413, London Road, Chalfont St Giles : Monday 29th March 2021 to Tuesday 6th April 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works the two ‘London Road’ stops located near to the junction with Pheasant Hill will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘King’s Road’ stops instead.

Swains Lane, Flackwell Heath : Wednesday 7th April 2021, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Thames Water works the stop for journeys towards High Wycombe will not be served during these times. Passengers are advised to use ‘The Common’ stop on Straight Bit instead.

Bicester Road, Fleet Marston : Wednesday 7th to Friday 9th April 2021. Due to works on behalf of BT the two ‘Fleet Marston Farm’ stops will not be served on these days.

Hill Avenue, Amersham : Thursday 8th to Saturday 10 April 2021, 9.30am to 3.00pm. Due to works on behalf of Virgin Media the ‘Railway Station’ Stop J will not be served between these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Oakfield Corner’ Stop C located further along Hill Avenue, instead.
