Work starts on 10 ‘green’ family homes in High Wycombe
Building work has started on a £1.9m development of low-carbon, family homes in High Wycombe.
Helix, the Newbury-based contractor and construction manager, is building 10 properties on land next to the Clifton Lodge Hotel in West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe.
The project will comprise four one-bedroom and two two-bedroom flats and two pairs of three-bedroom, semi-detached houses. Helix is working with local developer Esant to deliver the homes, which will be for both private sale and rent. Having started on site last month, work is due to be completed in March 2022.
The homes are designed to be low-carbon, using air-source heat pump technology in the houses and apartments to provide heating and hot water.
Stewart Humphreys, Associate, at Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), said: ‘We are looking forward to working with Helix on this new project, on behalf of our client Esant Ltd, helping to deliver new family homes in the High Wycombe area‘. RLB is providing project management, cost management and principle designer services for Esant.
The development is designed to complement the surrounding dwellings and natural topography. It provides communal amenity space for the apartments and good-sized family gardens for the homes.
Carl Mulkern, Managing Director of Helix, said: ‘We are pleased to have started work on site to provide these much-needed, low-carbon family homes in this highly desirable location.
We look forward to working with our partner Esant on the scheme, which will ultimately deliver an attractive, high-quality development which will enhance the local area.‘
