Bus stop suspensions and service diversions for the week ahead – Monday 10th May 2021

Week commencing Monday 10th May 2021 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Station Road, Quainton (between the Crossroads junction and the A41) : Until August 2021. Due to works by HS2 this section of road will be closed. Bus route 16 will travel to / from Waddesdon via Quainton Road in both directions during this period.

Crest Road / John Hall Way, High Wycombe : Monday 25th January to Friday 3rd September 2021. Due to changes at the junction by Transport for Buckinghamshire Crest Road will be closed and works taking place on John Hall Way. As such the stop opp ‘Next’ and the ‘Empire Cinema’ stops will not be served during these months. Passengers are advised to use the ‘YMCA’ stop or the ‘Asda’ stop on Holmers Farm Way instead.

Little Horwood Road, Winslow : Monday 1 March to Monday 14th June 2021. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed during this period. From Swanbourne buses will enter Winslow by serving Magpie Way, High Street, Horn Street, Vicarage Road and High Street before continuing to The Horwoods. Journeys from Little Horwood will operate via Great Horwood and Winslow and serve the ‘Magpie Estate’ stop on Magpie Way before continuing to Swanbourne. Due to this and other closures along the route, service 50 will operate to a revised timetable until further notice.

Ledborough Lane, Beaconsfield : Thursday 18 March to Saturday 5th June 2021. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. Carousel’s BB11 schoolday route will divert via Amersham Road and Maxwell Road and will not serve Wilton road or Station Road.

Beaconsfield Charter Fair : From 4.00pm on Sunday 9th May 2021 to 6.30am on Tuesday 11th May 2021. Due to this event, buses will not be able to serve stops on Aylesbury End, London End or Wycombe End (to the junction with Butlers Court Road). The nearest alternative stops are as follows:

  • The ‘Cricket Ground’ stop on London Road, for services 101 and 102 towards Uxbridge.
  • The stop adjacent to Candlemas Lane on Station Road for services towards High Wycombe.
  • The stop opposite Candlemas Lane on Station Road for services 101, 102 and 104 towards Uxbridge, and route 103 towards Watford.

Steeple Claydon Road, Charndon : Monday 10th May 2021 to Friday 6th August. Due to East-West Rail works this road will be closed between Portway Road and School Lane and buses 16 and 18 will need to divert. The 0645 and 0928 route 16 buses from Marsh Gibbon will start in Twyford instead then serving Marsh Gibbon and Main Street, Charndon before turning down School Hill. Route 16 passengers who use the Charndon Recreation Ground are advised to wait on Main Street instead. Bus route 18 will be unable to serve any stops in Charndon during this period.

High Street, Princes Risborough : Friday 14th May 2021, 7.00pm to 6.00am. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this night Buses will divert via will be unable to serve the Market Square stop and passengers are advised to use the New Road stops instead.

Collington Road, Berryfields, Aylesbury : Saturday 15th May 2021, 10.00am to 6.00pm. Due to development works this road will be closed. Bus route 4 / 4A will be unable to serve Collington Road, Pippin Road, Bramley Road, Worcester Street and Russet Street during these hours. The nearest stops are on Paradise Orchard between Collington Road and John Fitzjohn Avenue.

Bus Stop Closures

Gold Hill West, Chalfont St Peter : Monday 26th April to Monday 10th May 2021. Due to Cadent Gas works in the vicinity the two Gold Hill West stops near the junction with Gold Hill North will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Jolly Farmer’ stops further along Gold Hill West or the ‘Leachcroft’ stops on Grove Lane instead.

Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common : Monday 10th to Wednesday 12th May 2021. Due to Vodafone works in the vicinity the High Wycombe bound ‘Kennedy Close’ stop will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Forester’s Arms PH’ stop instead.

Station Road, Beaconsfield : Monday 10 to Wednesday 12th May 2021. Due to works in the vicinity the two ‘Post Office’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Waitrose’ stops on Penn Road instead.

Aylesbury Road, Bierton : Monday 10 to Thursday 13th May 2021. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Red Lion’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Burcott Lane’ stops instead.

West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Tuesday 11th to Saturday 15th May 2021, 9pm to 5am. Due to BT works in the vicinity the ‘Mill End Road East’ stop for journeys towards High Wycombe will not be served on these nights. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Mill End Road’ stop instead.

Copthall Lane, Chalfont Common : Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th May 2021. Due to works in the vicinity the ‘Copthall Lane’ stop for journeys from Slough will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Ninings Road’ stops, located further along Copthall Lane, instead.

Amersham Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th May 2021. Due to BT Openreach works in the vicinity the two ‘Grammar School’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Amersham Hill Drive’ stops instead.

Fowler Road, Aylesbury : Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th May 2021. Due to telecom works the stop for journeys away from the town centre near the junction of the Oxford Road will not be served on this day. The nearest stops are further round Fowler Road by the Prebendal Farm Shops or on the Oxford Road.

Cores End Road, Bourne End : Thursday 13th to Thursday 20th May 2021. Due to works in the vicinity for Cloud HQ the two ‘New Road’ stops will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Furlong Road or Station Road instead.
