Aylesbury Market is set to hold its first ever car boot sale on Saturday 7th August 2021.
Aylesbury Market has been in existence since it was decreed a Charter Market by Mary Queen of Scots back in 1554 and over the centuries has seen many varied uses such as an agricultural market specialising in cattle. It has hosted continental markets, food markets, vegan and now it is preparing to host a car boot sale on the historic cobbles of Aylesbury Market Square.
The car boot sale will take place on Saturday 7th August 2021 from 9.00am to 2.00pm with a maximum of 10 cars at £15 a pitch. Spaces are very limited and the car boot sale will be operated on a first come, first served basis with spaces available via pre-booking only. The car boot sale is for private cars only so commercial vans or businesses will not be allowed.
Anyone interested in finding out more and booking a space is advised to email [email protected].
Gareth Williams, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration at Buckinghamshire Council, said: ‘I’m excited to see the plans in place for Aylesbury Market’s first-ever car boot sale.
Whether you want to sell some of your unwanted items, or you fancy picking up a bargain or two, be sure to come along to Market Square on Saturday 7 August [2021].‘
Paul the Market Manager said: ‘It’s the first time that the town centre has run a car bootie and it will be joining the General Market on Saturday 7 August [2021].
It’s an ideal location in between the two shopping centres with good footfall of around 9,000 people passing through the course of the day.‘
Aylesbury Town Centre Management team is always looking to create new and innovative ways of encouraging people to visit the town and enjoy the extensive range of facilities on offer.
