Police appeal for information in connection with an assault at Beaconsfield Services on the M40

An appeal for information has been launched by Thames Valley Police in connection with assault at the Beaconsfield Services on the M40.

On Sunday 19th December 2021, at about 4.30am, an incident of grievous bodily harm happened on the westbound services. A 20 year old man, was with his friend outside the entrance to the services when he was attacked by a man. During the assault, the man bit a chunk out of the nose of the 20 year old man.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Nathan Devlin, said: ‘I am appealing to any witnesses to please come forward.

It is believed there was a verbal altercation between the victim and his friend and the offender inside the services prior to the assault.

The victim sustained a horrific injury, with a chunk of his nose bitten off. He required an emergency operation and may need further reconstructive surgery.

A 20 year old man from Beaconsfield has been arrested by police on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. He has been released under investigation.
