Bus stop suspensions and service diversions in Buckinghamshire for the week ahead – Monday 2nd May 2022

Week commencing Monday 2nd May 2022 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Public Holidays 2022

Most bus companies will operate their Sunday timetables on the public holidays listed below and most bus routes without a Sunday timetable will not run. Please double check with your operator before travelling.

• May Day : Monday 2nd May 2022
• Spring Bank Holiday : Thursday 2nd June 2022
• Platinum Jubilee : Friday 3rd June 2022
• Summer Bank Holiday : Monday 29th August 2022

Bus Diversions

West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe : Monday 4th January 2022 to Monday 30th May 2022. Due to long term Cadent Gas works, Arriva bus route 48 will divert via Dashwood Avenue and will not serve stops along the West Wycombe Road. Other services along here will operate as normal but May 2022 be delayed at times.

Aston Abbotts Road, Cublington : Thursday 28th April 2022 to Thursday 12th May 2022, 8am to 4pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed during this period. Buses will operate as follows:

• Service 165 : After serving Wing the bus will continue to Cublington, picking up passengers on the High Street, near the junction with Wing Road / Aston Abbotts Road. Then divert via Bushmead Road, the A413, New Road and Aston Abbotts Rd (Weedon) resuming normal route at The Green in Aston Abbotts to Aylesbury via Wingrave. Due to the length of diversion all journeys will terminate at Aylesbury Bus Station and Harvey Road, Barnard Crescent and Stoke Mandeville Hospital will not be served during this period.
• Services 153 and 154 : Buses will operate as normal from Stewkley to Cublington picking up / dropping off passengers on the High Street near the junction with Wing Road / Aston Abbotts Road, they will then divert via Bushmead Road to the A413 missing stops in Aston Abbotts.

Lower Road, Stoke Mandeville / Aylesbury : Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th May 2022, 8.00pm to 6.00am. Due to HS2 works this road will be closed between Station Road and Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Evening and early morning route 130 and 300 journeys will divert via Station Road and Wendover Road and will not serve stops in Lower Road, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Mandeville Road and Stoke Road. The last buses from Stoke Mandeville Hospital will be the 8.03pm route 9A bus from the Hospital to Aylesbury. To the hospital will be the 8.15pm route 9 bus from Aylesbury Bus Station.

Elizabeth Avenue, Little Chalfont : Tuesday 3rd to Monday 9th May 2022. Due to Cadent Gas works this road will be closed on these days. Passengers are advised that route 71 will not serve stops on Elizabeth Avenue. The nearest alternative stops are on Chalfont Avenue or White Lion Road.

Bus Stop Closures

Wendover Road, Stoke Mandeville : Wednesday 27th April 2022 to Saturday 15th May 2022. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works the ‘Silver Birch Way’ stop for journeys towards Aylesbury will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hampden Hall’ stop instead.

High Street, Great Missenden : Wednesday 27th April 2022 to Wednesday 4th May 2022. Due to UKPN works the stop opposite ‘Whitefield Lane’ will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stop on the High Street.

Oxford Road, Gerrards Cross : Thursday 28th April 2022 to Monday 2nd May 2022. Due to Swish Fibre works the two ‘Windsor Road’ and the ‘Bulstrode Court’ stop for journeys towards Beaconsfield will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘East Common’ or ‘Bull Hotel’ stops instead.

Totteridge Lane, High Wycombe : Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th May 2022. Due to Thames Water works the ‘Totteridge Lane’ stop for journeys to the town centre will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Dolphin PH’ stop instead.

Station Road, Beaconsfield : Wednesday 4th to Wednesday 13th May 2022. Due to works in the vicinity the two ‘Waitrose’ stops will not be served during these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Post Office’ stop instead.

Western Dene, Hazlemere : Wednesday 4th to Tuesday 17th May 2022. Due to works by CG Utilities the two stops on Western Dene will not be served during this period. The nearest alternatives are the ‘Park Parade’ stops on Holmer Green Road or the stops on Primrose Hill.

Telford Way, High Wycombe : Thursday 5th to Monday 9th May 2022. Due to works by Freeflow the two ‘Telford Way’ stops will not be served on these days. For journeys towards the town centre please use the ‘Telford Way Spur’ stop. For journeys back from town and towards Downley the nearest alternatives are on Hughenden Avenue or Brunel Road.

Coombe Lane, Naphill : Thursday 5th to Monday 9th May 2022. Due to Affinity Water works the two ‘Coombe Farm’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Hunts Hill Lane’ stops located on Main Road.

Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Royal : Sunday 8th May 2022, 8.00am to 4.00pm. Due to works by Openreach the ‘Fairfield Lane’ stop for journeys towards High Wycombe will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Farnham Pump PH’ or ‘Farnham Park Lane’ stops instead.
