| August 10, 2022

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a woman has been sentenced for a theft in High Wycombe.

On Friday 5th August 2022, at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, Nitu Chopra, aged 43, of Desborough Road, High Wycombe was sentenced to pay a £300 fine and costs of £775 after being found guilty of one count of theft in a dwelling.

On Friday 21st May 2021, at around 11.05pm, Chopra, who was an employee at Holmers House Care Home in Holmers Farm Way, went into the bedroom of a member of staff and stole £20 from a drawer. The incident was caught on CCTV.

Priority Crime Co-ordinator Craig Lambert, based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘Chopra’s conviction was the direct result of the support of the victim and staff at the care home as well as the diligent and positive investigation by the Priority Crime Team.

Chopra was as a senior carer at the care home and although she only stole a small amount of money, the sentence handed down by the magistrates rightly reflected her breach of trust and the severity of her actions.
