Buckinghamshire Council win appeal against an ‘inappropriate development’ in Beaconsfield
Buckinghamshire Council has won an appeal against an ‘inappropriate development’ in Beaconsfield.
On Thursday 25th November 2021, plans for the 450 residential property Beeches Park development next to the Amersham Road (A355) and Minerva Way in Beaconsfield were refused at the Council’s South Buckinghamshire Area Planning Committee. The decision has now been upheld at appeal by the Planning Inspectorate with the decision announced on Tuesday 20th December 2022.
Councillor Peter Strachan, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration at Buckinghamshire Council, said: ‘We are delighted that the Planning Inspector upheld our decision to refuse this application. From the start we argued that the plans for Beeches Park constituted inappropriate development and would have caused substantial harm to the Green Belt.
We received more than 500 letters from local residents and organisations objecting to this housing development so this is a great result for both the Council and the residents of Beaconsfield.‘
