Man suffers burns after a liquid was squirted at him while walking in Wendover
An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police after man and his dog were injured during an assault in Wendover.
On Thursday 9th March 2023, at about 6.30pm, a 68 year old man was walking his dog in Grenville Avenue between the junctions of Halton Lane and Carrington Crescent.
As the 68 year old man approached Halton Lane he noticed two men acting suspiciously, one of which approached the 68 year old man and squirted a liquid from a container into the eyes of the 68 year old man.
The two men involved in the assault then got into a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf which was driven away towards Halton Lane. Both of the men were both wearing dark clothing and are described as about 6ft and 5ft 8ins, respectively.
The liquid caused burns and irritation to both the 68 year old man and his dog. The man attended hospital as a result of his injuries while the dog received emergency veterinary treatment.
Police are yet to establish what the liquid used during the assault was, however it is described as smelling like ammonia.
