Roadworks in Buckinghamshire for the week ahead – Monday 31st July 2023

Week commencing Monday 31st July 2023 roadworks are scheduled to take place at the following locations in Buckinghamshire.

The works are part of a rolling programme. As some activities are weather dependent the dates may change at short notice.

Plane and Patch Works

Church Lane, West Wycombe, from Chorley Road to the Hellfire Caves entrance : Monday 31st July 2023 to Friday 4th August 2023 – Plane and patch works using a road closure in operation between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Thorney Lane South, Iver for approx. 50m north of the canal bridge to south of Ridgeway : Monday 31st July 2023 to Friday 4th August 2023 – Plane and patch works using a road closure in operation between 8.00pm and 6.00am.

Conventional Surfacing Works

Blackwell Hall Lane, Ley Hill from the cottages on the bend down to Latimer Road : Monday 31st July 2023 to Thursday 3rd August 2023 – Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 7.30am and 7.30pm.

Fair Leas Road, Chesham from Fair Leas, Chesham to Darvell Drive to end : Friday 4th August 2023 – Conventional surfacing works using a road closure in operation between 7.30am and 7.30pm.

Footways Resurfacing Works

Churchill Avenue, Aylesbury, from Gainsborough Road / Marlborough Road to Ellen Road : Monday 31st July to Friday 8th September 2023 – Footway resurfacing works using multi-way signals in operation between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Surface Dressing

Road surface dressing seals and waterproofs a road surface, extending its life and providing a non-skid surface. It involves spraying sticky tar-like bitumen binder substance on a clean, dry road surface, over which stone chippings are spread and the surface is rolled to embed the stones into the bitumen. Some loose stones will remain on the road surface for about a week while the weight of vehicles driving over them forces them in to the bitumen to finish the new road surface, followed by various days of sweeping to clear the loose stones and further time to re-install the road markings. This needs to be done during warm, dry weather.

A413 London Road / Buckingham Road, Padbury : Friday 4th August 2023 to Sunday 6th August 2023 – Works using road markings and road studs. These works are weather permitting.
