| December 5, 2023

Arriva is simplifying its bus network in and around Aylesbury to make the town a hub for exploring Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Chilterns.

The company has released a list of enhancements to services, due to come into effect from Sunday 7th January 2024.

A new X7 service will operate between Aylesbury, Haddenham, Thame, Wheatley and Oxford up to every 30 minutes.

Another service, the X8, will offer quicker journeys between Thame and Oxford along the A40.

Together, routes X7 and X8 offers four buses an hour between Thame and Oxford.

Arriva is doubling the number of buses on route X7 on Sundays, boosting the frequency to up to every 30 minutes.

There will also be some later evening services, leaving at 11.00pm on Mondays to Saturdays.

A better timetable between Aylesbury and Hemel Hempstead will also launch in 2024, resulting in more reliable and punctual services.

In addition, Arriva has made some amendments to bus times around schools as a result of feedback from pupils and parents to better meet their travel needs.

All the services affected are listed on the Arriva website at the following link : Changes to your bus services in Aylesbury Jan 24.

Matt King, network manager for Arriva Midlands, said: ‘Aylesbury is a great hub for our customers to hop on the bus to other local towns and cities.

We’ve carefully listened to what our customers have said, and we’ve changed some timetables so that they’ll be able to easily remember what times their buses will leave and arrive, which will mean seamless connections across the county.

The changes that we’re making in this region will be of real use to commuters and to the schools in the area.

We’re always open to listening to our customers and taking on board their comments when we can.

These enhancements reinforce our commitment to make public transport as good as we can for the communities we serve.

The Arriva website has been updated to reflect the changes.
