Teenage boy sustained ‘GBH-level injuries’ during an assault in High Wycombe

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police following an incident of grievous bodily harm in High Wycombe.

On Sunday 24th March 2024, at around 9.30pm, a boy in his teens was assaulted by a group of young men in the area of Desborough Street and Jubilee Road.

The victim has sustained GBH-level injuries which required hospital treatment, but has since been discharged.

A 16 year old boy and a 17 year old boy, both from High Wycombe, have been arrested by Police on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, public order and assault.

Chief Inspector Robb Webb, Deputy LPA Commander for Aylesbury, said: ‘We are investigating this incident and are carrying out extensive enquiries into this concerning incident.

We are undertaking a number of enquiries and reassurance patrols, so members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area.

Although we are in the very early stages of our enquiries we have made two arrests and at this stage we are not treating this incident as a hate crime.

We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident or who has dash-cam, doorbell or phone footage from the area around the time that it happened, to please get in touch.
