Bus stop suspensions and service diversions in Buckinghamshire for the week ahead – Monday 8th August 2022

Week commencing Monday 8th August 2022 the following bus stop suspensions and service diversions are expected to affect bus services in Buckinghamshire.

Bus Diversions

Dickens Way and Jackson Road, Aylesbury : Monday 13th June 2022 to Friday 2 September 2022. Due to works on behalf of Transport for Buckinghamshire near the junction of the A41 Bicester Road in Quarrendon and Haydon Hill, parts of Jackson Road and Dickens Way will be closed during these dates. Service 2, 4, and 5 buses will be following diversion routes. The stop opposite the Cotton Wheel pub will not be served during this time and temporary stop will be installed beyond the Belgrave Road junction.

• Service 2 is running to a revised timetable missing Haydon Hill. After serving the John Kennedy bus stop, buses will turn round divert via Belgrave Road.
• Service 4 / 4A is currently running a revised timetable. Journeys which serve stops on Jackson Road & Meadowcroft will divert via Belgrave Road.
• Service 5 will operate from town as normal to Haydon Hill, then turn at Lautrec Way and divert via Meadowcroft and Belgrave Road.

Straight Bit, Flackwell Heath : Wednesday 3rd to Monday 8th August 2022. Due to emergency Thames Water works part of this road will be closed. The two stops at ‘The Common’ and the ‘Chapman Lane’ stop for journeys towards Bourne End will not be served. Passengers are advised to use stops further along Straight Bit or on Heath End Road.

Elizabeth Avenue, Little Chalfont : Monday 8th to Friday 12th August 2022. Due to Affinity Water works part of this road will be closed on this day. Bus route 71 will divert turning at Chalfont Avenue and passengers are advised to use the stop on Chalfont Avenue or along White Lion Road instead.

A4010 Risborough Road, Stoke Mandeville : Monday 8th to Thursday 11 August 2022, 9pm to 6am. Due to HS2 works this road will be closed on these nights. Buses will divert and stops between Terrick Crossroads and Station Road will not be served.

Newbarn Lane, Seer Green : Wednesday 10th to Friday 12th August 2022. Due to Affinity Water works this road will be closed. Bus route 104 will need to divert via Jordans and the stops in Seer Green at School Lane, Chalfont Lane and Newbarn Lane will not be served.

Wycombe Road / Browns Road and Pond Approach, Holmer Green : Wednesday 10th to Friday 19th August 2022, 9.30am to 4.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works, these roads will be closed at these times. Bus routes 1 and 1A will divert via Watchet Lane and Beech Tree Road missing all stops on the closed roads and at The Common. The nearest alternatives are on Sheepcote Dell Road and Sawpit Hill.

Churchill Avenue, Aylesbury : Thursday 11th and Friday 12th August 2022, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this road will be closed at these times between Ellen Road and Mandeville Road. Bus route 9 will turn at the Ellen Road / Churchill Avenue roundabout, missing stops on the closed section of Churchill Avenue, the ‘Stadium Approach’ stop on Mandeville Road and the stops at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Passengers are advised to use bus routes 130, 300 and X30 between Aylesbury town centre and the Hospital instead.

Hogfair Lane, Burnham : Saturday 13th August 2022. Due to Cadent Gas works this road will be closed on this day. Bus route 53 will need to divert via Stomp Road and Priory Road, missing stops on Lent Rise Road, Gore Road, Britwell Road and Hogfair Lane.

Bus Stop Closures

Thame Road, Chilton : Monday 23rd May 2022 to Tuesday 16th August 2022. Due to works on behalf of Thames Water the two stops on Thame Road will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to wait where safe outside the works area and hail to the drivers to stop.

Barnsbury Avenue, Aylesbury : Wednesday 8th June 2022 to Monday 8th August 2022. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Barnsbury Avenue’ stops will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the stops on Narbeth Drive instead.

Ellen Road, Aylesbury : Monday 25th July to Thursday 18th August 2022. Due to UKPN works the ‘Ellen Road Shops’ stop for journeys towards Hawkslade and the Hospital will not be served during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Blackwater Drive’ stops.

Abbey Way, High Wycombe : Thursday 28th July to Tuesday 9th August 2022. Due to works by Instal the ‘Abbey School’ stop will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stop on the High Street instead.

Blind Lane, Bourne End : Thursday 4th to Wednesday 17th August 2022. Due to works on behalf of Swish Fibre Networks the ‘Loddon Road’ stop for journeys towards High Wycombe will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Waborne Road’ instead.

Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Common : Friday 5th to Tuesday 9th August 2022. Due to works by Thames Water the two ‘Forester’s Arms’ stops will not be served on this day. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Kennedy Close’ stops instead.

Station Road, Bourne End : Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th August 2022. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Railway Station’ stops will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘St Mark’s Church’ stops instead.

Thame Road, Long Crendon : Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th August 2022. Due to Thames Water works the two stops on Thame Road will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the stops on The Square instead.

Lower Road, Aylesbury : Tuesday 9th August 2022, 9.30am to 1.30pm. Due to Thames Water works the two ‘Ambulance Station’ stops will not be served at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Main Gate’ stop located in the Stoke Mandeville Hospital site instead.

Desborough Road, High Wycombe : Wednesday 10th August 2022, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Due to works by the Lanes Group the two ‘Cedar Terrace’ stops will not be served at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Green Street’ or ‘St John’s Church’ stops instead.

Bicester Road, Aylesbury : Wednesday 10th to Friday 12th August 2022. Due to Freeflow works the ‘Southern Road’ stop for journeys towards the town centre will not be served on these days. Passengers are advised to use the ‘West Street’ or ‘Henley’s Roundabout’ stop instead.

Cam Mead, Aylesbury : Wednesday 10th August 2022 to Wednesday 2nd November 2022. Due to Thames Water works the stop on Cam Mead will be missed during this period. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Yeoman’ stop on Bedgrove or the stop on Long Meadow.

Primrose Hill, Widmer End : Thursday 11th August 2022, 8.00am to 5.00pm. Due to Affinity Water works the Primrose Hill stop for journeys towards Great Missenden will not be served at these times. Passengers are advised to use the ‘Honeysuckle Road’ stop on George’s Hill instead.
