Police appeal for witnesses to an assault in Chesham

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police following an assault in Chesham.

On Monday 1st August 2022, at around 12.30am, a woman in her sixties was involved in an argument with a man in the Star Yard Car Park in Parsonage Lane. The man pushed the woman to the floor and dragged her across the car park.

During the incident the woman suffered a graze to her elbow but did not require hospital treatment.

The Investigating officer from Thames Valley Police, based at Amersham police station, said: ‘I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

I understand there was a group of Asian males in the car park at the time of the offence so I hope they may have seen what happened and get in touch.

Also, if you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.

Police have arrested a 54 year old man from Chesham in connection with the incident on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating and intentional strangulation. The man has been released on police bail until Sunday 28th August 2022.
