It may have been an evenly matched result in terms of ball possession (50% each side) but despite going down to ten men Fleetwood Town managed to win 1-0 thanks to a goal from Morris in the fifty ninth minute. As well as even possession each side also managed nine shots on goal of which Fleetwood put seven on target compare to Wycombe’s four.
Fleetwood were reduced to ten men in the thirteenth minute when Goodall was adjudged to have stamped on Wycombe’s Nick Arnold. Morris’s match winning shot, a shot from distance, was all that was required to seal the match for Fleetwood and send Wycombe home without any much needed points.
Wycombe now find themselves in an all too familiar position of recent times, hovering perilously close to the relegation zone however they are now in twenty first place on equal points with Bristol Rovers however a better goal difference puts Wycombe above the Rovers in the League table.
The attendance was 2,711.
