Roof catches fire in Gerrards Cross house undergoing refurbishment

Fire broke out in the roof space of a three story house in Gerrards Cross today, Wednesday 4th June 2014. The house in Windsor Road, Gerrards Cross was undergoing refurbishment at the time.

The fire brigade were altered at 1.00pm. Four fire appliances were despatched with one appliance coming from each of Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe and Slough fire stations.

Two hose reels, two jets, six sets of breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, a ladder, working-at-heights equipment and a tool kit were used during the operation to extinguish the fire.

The roof was 20% damaged by fire and 80% damaged by smoke. The second floor was 10% damaged by heat and smoke and the first floor and ground floor were 10% damaged by water.
