Capita selected as preferred bidder on £14m ICT contract for Wycombe District Council

Capita has been chosen as the preferred bidder for a five year Information and Communications Technology (ICT) contract to provide services to Wycombe District Council.

The new contract is due to commence in February 2015 however the tender is still subject to approval through the Council’s committee process.

Initiated last July the tender covered ICT support and maintenance services for the council’s ICT and communications systems, plus face-to-face, telephone and on-line customer services.

The ICT services covered by the contract will include consulting, software development, internet and support, administration and customer services as well as the maintenance and repair of computer equipment and telecommunications infrastructure.

Customer services will cover benefits, choice-based lettings, council tax, business rates, environmental health, housing, licensing and planning services.

The original contract notice quoted the contract as being worth an estimated £14m. It would cover an initial term of five years and six months of which six months would cover transitional work. There would also be two options to extend the contract, each of 24 months.
