Attempted murder – Buckingham Street, Aylesbury

At 2.25pm on Monday 8th September 2014 a man aged in his mid twenties was in the Babs Food & Wine store in Buckingham Street, Aylesbury. He was assaulted by another man and sustained injuries which were consistent with stab wounds to his neck.

The victim was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital where he is in a serious condition.

The offender is white, with grey long hair. He was wearing a black coat and had a walking stick.

Officers conducted enquiries in the area and a scene watch was put in place in Buckingham Street, Aylesbury.

A 63 year old man from Aylesbury was been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and placed in police custody.

Det Sgt Simon Johnson, from Aylesbury Force CID, said: ‘I am appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to contact police. If you saw what happened, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the shop or in the area at around the time of the incident, please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101. Members of the Neighbourhood Team are in the area and if anyone in the community has any concerns please approach an officer.
