Road surfacing works planned from 3rd October 2014 to 9th October 2014

During the last week Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) have been very busy. Not only were five new apprentices taken on but the TfB LED street light replacement programme commenced.

191 street lamps were converted to LED fitments last week however next week it is envisaged that over 200 will be replaced. Only the lamp fitment is changed while the rest of the lamp remains in situ. The new LED lamps will result in increased energy savings, lower carbon emissions and a reduction in maintenance costs in comparison with traditional units.

During the last week TfB converted street lamps to LED fitments at the following locations :

Galley Lane, Great Brickhill
Thame Road, Haddenham
Britannia Street, Aylesbury
Marroway, Weston Turville
Pegasus Way, Haddenham
Cambridge Street, Aylesbury
Park Lane, Beaconsfield
Bicester Road, Quarrendon

This week TfB repaired 221 potholes with an additional 517 repaired by jetpatcher vehicles.

TfB also continued with their large scale treatment works with road treatment completed in the following areas :

Wiltshire Road, Marlow
Stoke Road, Aylesbury
Fair Acres, Prestwood
Rugwood Road, Flackwell Heath

Severe weather recovery work was completed in the following locations :

Lower Road, Dinton
Lower Road, Haddenham
Mentmore Road, Cheddington

Over 64% of the large scale road treatment work is now complete with 41% of the severe weather recovery schemes also finished. Next week, the following work is programmed :

These are daytime surfacing works that will be carried out utilising a road closure that will be in operation between 09:30hrs and 16:30hrs

Sunday 5th October 2014 : A418 Oxford Road/Fowler Road, Aylesbury – Around the traffic lights
These are road marking remedial works that will be carried out utilising lane closures from 9am

Monday 6th October  2014 – Monday 20th October 2014: A4010 Wycombe Road, Saunderton
These are night time surfacing works being carried out utilising a road closure

Thursday 9th October 2014 – Wednesday 15th October 2014 : Grays Park Road & Bells Hill, Stoke Poges
These are night time surfacing works being carried out utilising a road closure

Notices have been delivered to all affected properties regarding the above works, informing them of the work. Scheme boards on site will outline any restrictions to the roads. This is also the case for the TfB severe weather recovery scheme, which continues next week with the following roads:

Starting Monday 6th October 2014, the A40 Abbey Way flyover in High Wycombe will be closed in one direction overnight to facilitate resurfacing and lining work. The exact closures and works are as follows :

Monday night 6th October 2014 from 9.00pm to 06.00am Eastbound (London bound) closed for Lane 2 resurfacing.
Tuesday night 7th October 2014 from 9.00pm to 06.00am Westbound (Eden shopping centre bound) closed for Lane 1 or 2 resurfacing.
Wednesday night 8th October 2014 from 9.00pm to 06.00am Westbound (Eden shopping centre bound) closed for Lane 1 or 2 resurfacing.
Thursday night 9th October 2014  from 9.00pm to 06.00am Westbound (Eden shopping centre bound) closed for Lily’s Walk resurfacing and new road markings.
Friday night 10 th October 2014 from 9.00pm to 06.00am Eastbound (London bound) closed for road new road markings.

The TfB footway treatment programme also continues with the following schemes (All are preparation works in advance of a slurry treatment being applied to the footway) :
