MATCH REPORT – Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Northampton Town
A goal in stoppage time by Aaron Holloway saved Wycombe Wanderers from defeat against Northampton Town at Adams Park this Saturday.
The first half saw Wycombe the slightly more dominant team however there were no real chances until Northampton went ahead courtesy of a goal headed home by Cresswell in the 31st minute from a Joel Byrom free kick.
Despite several attempts on goal in the second half Wycombe were unable to make the breakthrough needed, the turning point came in the 64th minute when Matt McClure was replaced with Aaron Holloway.
A shot 25 yards out from Paris Cowan-Hall went over the bar then in the 82nd minute Paul Hayes headed the ball into the Northampton net but this effort was disallowed.
Well into stoppage time a Holloway goal clinched the draw and secured a much needed point for the Wanderers.
Wycombe managed three shots on target to just one by Northampton, however the match was marred by a total thirty five fouls (16 from Wycombe, 19 from Northampton).
