Wycombe Wanders reinforced their status as the team to beat in League Two with an emphatic 2-0 victory over Wimbledon this Saturday, 18th October 2014.
After a uneventful but entertaining first half Wycombe stepped up a gear in the second half and stamped their mark on the game when, in the fifty first minute, Josh Scowen scored from a flicked header from Steven Craig.
A few moments later, in the seventieth minute, Steven Craig engineered another goal with a cross to Sam Wood who put Wycombe 2-0 ahead.
Once they got in their stride Wycombe were by far the dominant team with 55% ball possession to Wimbledon’s 45%.
The statistic which sums this Saturday’s game best is the number of shots on goal, the Blues managed 11 shots on goad of which four were on target however during the entire match Wimbledon only managed one shot at goal which wasn’t even on target.
When it comes to fouls Wimbledon committed sixteen to Wycombe’s twelve however both sides were given three yellow cards.
Wycombe Wanderers remain at the top of League two with twenty eight points from thirteen games.
