Three car parks run by AVDC have retained their Park Mark status

| October 31, 2014

Following a reassessment three car parks operated by Aylesbury Vale District Council have retained their Park Mark status.

The Exchange Street car park in Aylesbury, Cornwalls Meadow car park in Buckingham and the Wendover Library car park were all inspected and assessed by the British Parking Association and Thames Valley Police accredited assessors during October 2014.

Achieving a Park Mark, the national award for car parks, means that these car parks have found to be fit for purpose, well managed and safe for customers to use.

Councillor Brian Roberts, Cabinet Member for Civic Amenities, said:’Local residents quite rightly expect us to look after our car parks as well as doing all we can to ensure they are as safe and secure as possible. The awards confirm to residents that we are dedicated to providing top quality parking services.

Park Mark is an initiative by the Association of Chief Police Officers supported by The British Parking Association and aims to reduce crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.

The assessments include management and maintenance of the facility and checks that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness.

There are eleven council-run car parks with the Park Mark award in Aylesbury Vale.
