Lin Hazell appointed as Cabinet Member for Children’s Services at Buckinghamshire County Council

Martin Tett, the Leader of Buckinghamshire County Council, has appointed Lin Hazell as the new Cabinet Member for Children’s Services. The appointment was made on Monday 24th November 2014.

Lin is currently the Buckinghamshire County Councillor for the Farnham Common and Burnham Beeches division.

Lin brings a wealth of experience including being a previous Cabinet member for Children’s Services from 2005 to 2011 and most recently, Chairman of the Health and Adult Social Care Select Committee.

Announcing the appointment, Martin Tett said, ‘Lin’s commitment and experience will be vital in delivering the comprehensive improvement plan we set out following our Ofsted inspection report. She will be a real asset to the Cabinet and her previous knowledge means she can hit the ground running.

Commenting on her appointment, Lin Hazell said, ‘I am delighted to accept the appointment. We have a huge task ahead of us, but I am confident that we have a strong basis on which to move forward. I looking forward to working with all children’s services staff to successfully deliver the improvements we have set out in our action plan.

Lin will take up her new role from 1st December 2014.
