Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Luton Town

Over 7,500 fans packed Adams Park to witness the Boxing Day 2014 showdown between Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town.

The attendance was always going to be big after Luton sold their entire allocations of tickets.

In the third minute of the match Paris Cowan-Hall put the Blues in the lead with headed goal from the centre of the box in to the top left corner of the Luton net following a corner.

Wycombe’s lead only lasted five minutes when, in the eighth minute of the match, Jonathan Smith equalised for Luton Town finding the top left corner of the Wycombe net with a right footed shot from outside the box.

In the thirty sixth minute Aaron Pierre nearly put the Chairboys in the lead but his header was just a bit too high.

Seven minutes later Andy Drury failed to put Luton Town in the lead with his left footed shot was saved in the centre of the goal.

The second half was just as entertaining as the first with both sides coming close to scoring however the score stayed at 1-1. With the points shared Wycombe remain top of League Two.

Luton managed thirteen shots on goal, with four on target compared to Wycombe’s eight with two on target. Possession was even with the Blues on 52% and Luton Town on 48%. Both teams had eight corners. With elven fouls apiece both teams acquired two yellow cards but none of the players was sent off.

The attendance at Adams Park was 7,539.
