Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service draw attention to product recall regarding Igenix 2000W Oil Filled Radiator

| January 6, 2015

Community safety staff at Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service are drawing a product recall issued by domestic electrical products company Igenix to the public’s attention.

A potential safety issue has been identified with the Igenix 2000W Oil Filled Radiator, product code IG2600, batch number 50 08 14, which has been offered for sale since 15 September 2014. All other Igenix oil filled radiators are unaffected.

It has been brought to the attention of Igenix that the type of oil used is causing the product to overheat and oil to escape through a single point in one of the radiator fins.

Safety experts at electrical safety campaigning charity Electrical Safety First say there is a risk that this could cause burns or a fire.

If you have bought an Igenix Oil Filled Radiator, please check the batch number, which is detailed on the product’s silver rating label. The rating label is located on the side of the plastic control panel above the wheel.

If you have one of the affected radiators, the manufacturers are asking that you please stop using it immediately. Return it to where you bought it for a full refund or a replacement. If this is not possible, please contact the Igenix Customer Service team on 01473 271 272 or by email at [email protected].

Further information on this product recall can be found on the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service website.
