It was anything but a Good Friday for Wycombe Wanders on Friday 3rd April 2015 after they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Oxford United.
Kemar Roofe opened the scoring in the eleventh minute for mid-table Oxford United after converting a cross from Danny Rose. In the twenty second minute it was Danny Rose who put the visitors two up from a cross by Kemar Roofe.
Paul Hayes put Wycombe back in the game with a goal in the forty eighth minute. Roofe scored a second to cement Oxford’s lead in the sixtieth minute.
Aaron Holloway put the ball in the back of the net to score a late second goal for the Blues in the eighty-ninth minute but time was up and Oxford escaped up the M40 with a win and points that Wycombe desperately needed to remain in strong contention for automatic promotion.
During the match Wycombe managed nine shots at goal, of which four were on target whereas Oxford United managed seven shots on goal of which five were on target.
The Chairboys had more ball possession, at 52% compared to Oxfords 48%. Oxford players committed ten fouls to Wycombe’s seven.
Wycombe Wanders slip to third in League Two with seventy four points from forty games.
The attendance at Adams Park was 6,892.
