Man, 34, sentenced to 1 year in prison following GBH attack in the High Street, High Wycombe

A man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for GBH in High Wycombe following an attack in the High Street, High Wycombe.

The charge relates to an incident in High Street, High Wycombe that occurred just after midnight on Tuesday 6th January 2015 when during an unprovoked attack a 50 year old man was pushed over from behind. The victim fell to the ground and broke his hip.

The 34 year old man of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to the charge of assault occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday 13th March 2015 and was sentenced at the same court on Thursday 30th April 2015. He was charged on Friday 27th February 2015.

Det Con Carl Wilson investigating said: ‘It is accepted that the offender may not have intended to cause such significant injury to the victim, however the attack was unprovoked and unnecessary and the effects of the night will remain with the victim for a long time. [The offender] will at least have some time to reflect on his actions.
