Stevenage Town 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers

It was an afternoon to forget for Wycombe Wanderers when they travelled to Stevenage for their match on Saturday 17th October 2015.

The first goal of the match came after just ten minutes when the Stevenage goalkeeper, Jesse Joronen, scored after making a huge clearance. Matt Ingram in the Wycombe goal made a misjudgement and the ball bounced into the back of the Wycombe net.

Stevenage went 2-0 ahead in the sixtieth minute thanks to a headed goal from Armand Gnanduillet.

Max Kretzschmar kept Wycombe’s hopes alive through a goal in the seventy ninth minute but it was not enough and when the final whistle blew Wycombe, unbeaten away in the League this season, lost the match, their unbeaten record and slipped out of the play-off places in the League.

Wycombe were by far the more challenging side with ten shots on goal, four of which were on target. Stevenage could only manage seven shots on goal, four of them were also on target.

Possession was almost equal with 49% for Wycombe and 51% for Stevenage.

After today’s game, with a game in hand Wycombe are now eighth in the League with twenty one points from twelve games.

The attendance at Broadhall Way was 3,292 (743 from Wycombe Wanderers).
