Wycombe Sound 87.9FM returned to the airwaves at 7.00am on Thursday 19th November 2015

Wycombe Sound 87.9FM, the popular community radio station for High Wycombe, returned to airwaves at 7.00am on Thursday 19th November 2015.

Broadcasting on an OFCOM Restricted Service Licence the radio station will be on the air for 28 days until midnight on Wednesday 16th December 2015.

The studios of Wycombe Sound are now based in a new dedicated studio complex located at Bridge House in Bridge Street, High Wycombe.

This years broadcast promises to be the biggest and best so far with live bands performing in the stations impressive ‘Blue Room’ performance area which is spacious enough for a live audience to be present making it the ideal setting for meetings and debates too.

Des Withey will once again be hosting the Breakfast Show every week day from 7.00am to 9.00am. From 10.00am until 1.00pm Philippa will take the helm for the Mid Morning Show then at 4.00pm to 7.00pm the Pole Position Drivetime show will be presented by Phil and Luke.

The local news will be in association with WycombeToday.com, the weather in association with Manor Estates and the traffic news in association with @wycombedc.

The evening schedule will include specialist music, debate, magazine and DJ shows with a late night phone in on Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 10.00pm until midnight.

During this years switching on of the High Wycombe Christmas Lights Wycombe Sound presenters Phil and Luke will be hosting the Main Stage in Frogmoor. This event takes place from 4.00pm until 7.00pm on Thursday 19th November 2015 with the lights switched on at 6.45pm from the Main Stage in Frogmoor.

An application to OFCOM for a full licence to broadcast for Wycombe Sound has already been submitted and it is hoped the radio station will soon become permanent feature serving the community of High Wycombe.

As well as listening on the radio a Wycombe Sound app (available for Apple and Android) can be downloaded from the Wycombe Sound website so you can listen on your phone too. An internet streaming service is also available on the Wycombe Sound website.
