One week on from the Paris attacks a candlelight vigil is to be held outside WDC offices
On Friday 20th November 2015, a week on from the attacks in Paris, a candlelight vigil will be held in the car park at the front of Wycombe District Council’s offices on Queen Victoria Road, High Wycombe.
Led by the Vice-Chairman of the Council alongside some of High Wycombe’s community and faith leaders the hour-long vigil will start at 5.30pm.
Cllr Mahboob Hussain, Vice-Chairman of Wycombe District Council, commented: ‘Everyone is welcome to join us in taking a moment to reflect not only on the abhorrent events in Paris last week, but also on other recent tragedies. Together we stand united, not divided as the perpetrators of these attacks would want us to be.‘
To ensure there are no cars in the car park during the vigil and to allow people to arrive and leave safely the car park at the front of the council office will be closed between 4.30pm and 7.00pm.
If making their way from the town centre, anyone wishing to join the vigil is asked to use the pedestrian crossing on Queen Victoria Road.
