Witness appeal launched after motorcyclist is found dead in undergrowth on the M40

A witness appeal has been launched by Thames Valley Police following reports on Wednesday 18th November 2015 of a fatal road traffic collision on the M40 near High Wycombe.

A male motorcycle rider in his twenties was discovered deceased in undergrowth on the M40 motorway embankment near Junction 4 Handy Cross yesterday. His next of kin has been informed.

Investigating officer Sgt Gavin Collier, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘The circumstances of this collision are currently being investigated and I would like to speak to anyone who saw a red Honda motorcycle travelling on the Handy Cross roundabout and on to the M40 motorway at around 11.20pm on Friday 13th November 2015.

The motorcycle, which was travelling southbound on the M40 between Junctions 4 High Wycombe and 3 Loudwater, lost control and left the carriageway.

Anyone with any details which could assist the investigation should call police.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone with any information which could assist the investigation is asked to call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
