Wycombe Wanderers travelled to Yeovil Town hoping for a win to bolster their chances of promotion on Tuesday 24th November 2015.
The Chairboys started the match in a determined manner, after just eleven minutes of play Matt Bloomfield fired left footed shot from outside the box towards the Yeovil goal but sadly the shot was too high.
Further attempts from Sam Wood in the thirty second minute, and Luke O’Nien in the forty first and forty fourth minutes also failed to find the back of the home sides net.
The match was goalless at half time but in the seventieth minute Luke O’Nien made the breakthrough that Wycombe were looking for with an impressive right footed shot from outside the box that found the top right corner of the Yeovil goal, the shot was assisted by Aaron Holloway on its way into the net.
The scored remained in Wycombe’s favour by one goal when the final whistle went.
Wycombe claimed some well deserved points and now find themselves in ninth position in League Two with twenty nine points from seventeen games.
The match possession stats show that Yeovil had 52% compared to Wycombe’s 48% however the Wanderers made eleven attempts on goal (six on target) compared to seven attempts on goal (five on target) for Yeovil.
Nineteen fouls were committed during the match, twelve by Wycombe Players and seven by Yeovil.
This evening Wycombe kept their promotion hopes alive with a win in the West Country.
The attendance at Huish Park was 2,963 (154 from Wycombe).
