Man, 31, convicted of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision in Plomer Green Lane, Downley
A 31 year old man from High Wycombe has been convicted of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision in Plomer Green Lane in which one of his passengers died.
The man of Parsonage Close, High Wycombe pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by dangerous driving at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday 14th December 2015.
At 2.20am on Monday 4th May 2015 a Volkswagen Golf being driven by the convicted man was involved in a collision with a flat bed lorry and a Citroen Berlingo which were both parked in Plomer Green Lane, Downley.
One of the passengers in the Volkswagen Golf, 27 year old Jonathon Lane from High Wycombe was injured in the collision. He was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital but sadly died the same day.
The convicted man was charged with the offence on Monday 19th October 2015.
Senior investigating officer Sgt Ashley Hannibal, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: ‘I am pleased that [the convicted man] has recognised the gravity of the situation and has admitted causing Jonathon’s death.
While the conviction will never bring Jonathon back for his family, I hope it will go some way to enabling them to have a sense of closure.‘
The man is due to be sentenced at the same court on Tuesday 22nd December 2015.
