Luton Town 0-2 Wycombe Wanderers

A return to the League Two play off places was a nice Christmas present for Wycombe Wanderers following their game with Luton Town on Boxing Day 2015.

After a goalless first half Garry Thompson put Wycombe in the lead in the fifty first minute with a shot into the centre of the goal. Fifteen minutes later, in the sixty fifty minute, Paul Hayes headed the second, match winning, goal securing three well deserved points for Wycombe and propelling them back into the play off positions.

Wycombe were by far the more dominant team with 53% possession, Wycombe had twelve attempts on goal, for of which were on target. However not one of Luton’s nine shots at goal was on target.

The match saw 21 fouls, eleven from Wycombe players and twelve from Luton.

Wycombe are back where they deserve to be, in the play off positions. After today’s game Wycombe find themselves in sixth position in League Two with thirty seven points from twenty two games.

The attendance at Kenilworth Road was 9,676 (829 from Wycombe).
