Fire broke out in the engine compartment of a lorry on the M40
On the morning of Tuesday 22nd March 2016 fire broke out in the engine compartment of a lorry travelling on the Southbound carriageway of the M40 between Junction 4 (Handy Cross) and Junction 3 (Loudwater).
Firefighters were called at 10.46am. Two fire appliances with crews attended from High Wycombe fire station as well as one from Marlow fire station. Two officers also attended the scene.
A hose reel was used during the operation to extinguish the fire.
Paramedics treated a man who was suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
