Man injured as car leaves M40 motorway and stops on the embankment

During the early hours of Easter Bank Holiday Monday 28th March 2016 a car left the M40 motorway and stopped on the embankment.

The vehicle was travelling on the southbound carriageway of the M40 between Junction 5 (Stokenchurch) and Junction 4 (Handy Cross).

Firefighters were called at 1.47am. One fire appliance with crew attended from High Wycombe fire station and two from Thame fire station. Two officers were also present at the scene.

Hydraulic rescue equipment was used by the firefighters to release an injured man from the vehicle.
