Police launch witness appeal following serious injury road traffic collision on the M40
An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on the Southbound carriageway of the M40 between Junction 5 (Stokenchurch) and Junction 4 (High Wycombe) on Monday 28th March 2016.
At 1.38am a blue BMW was travelling towards High Wycombe in lane one, near junction four. From CCTV it appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle which then travelled across lanes two and one where it left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
The male driver of the car was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he remains with serious injuries. The police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene.
Police would like to speak to the drivers of a white ‘Ford Transit’ style van and a car that it appears the BMW narrowly missed as they may have information that could help with this investigation.
Police officers would also like to speak to anyone who was driving on the M40 in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the collision. Anyone with information that could help the police inquire is asked to please contact the police non-emergency number 101 as a matter of urgency quoting URN 140 (28/3).
