Beacon to be lit on Tom Burt’s Hill to mark The Queens 90th birthday on Thursday 21st April 2016

In celebration of The Queens 90th birthday on Thursday 21st April 2016 Wycombe District Council are to hold a special beacon lighting ceremony on Tom Burt’s Hill, High Wycombe.

Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, The Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and Wycombe District Council Chairman Cllr Ian McEnnis will be among the dignitaries attending the event.

Parking is available in the Shelley Recreation Ground in Shelley Road with Tom Burt’s Hill also accessible via a footpath off Loakes Road behind Wycombe Hospital.

Those wishing to attend the ceremony are urged to arrive for 7.15pm ahead of the lighting ceremony at 7.30pm. Residents are advised to bring a torch for the return walk after the lighting event has finished.

Appropriate footwear is advised due to the uneven surfaces on the footpaths and in the open space.
