At 11.00am on Wednesday 15th June 2016 staff at Buckinghamshire County Council took part in a minute’s silence to remember victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting.

They congregated on the steps of County Hall, Aylesbury where Leader Martin Tett gave a short speech in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

He said: ‘Thanks to everybody for coming this morning to remember the 49 people killed in the atrocity in Orlando.

Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this tragic time.

It is important to remember that this was not just a terrorist attack but also a hate crime against a key section of the community not just in America but across the world.
