Dog dies after being attacked by another dog in the High Street, High Wycombe
On Monday 25th July 2016 a dog fatally attacked another dog in the High Street, High Wycombe.
At around 10.45am, a woman was walking down the High Street, High Wycombe with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross on a lead when it attacked a Yorkshire Terrier tied up outside a shop.
As a result of its injuries the Yorkshire Terrier died.
Investigating officer PC Stuart Baron, Dog Legislation Officer based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘This was a distressing incident that happened in a public place in High Wycombe town centre.
I would like to reassure members of the public that we take incidents of this nature very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation into this.
The town centre is a safe place to be and we want to assure shoppers and visitors that this is a very rare occurrence and members of the public should not be deterred from visiting the town centre.
We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information that could assist us with our investigation.
