Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to hold ‘health fair’ at Stoke Mandeville Hospital
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are holding a ‘health fair’ on Thursday 29th September 2016 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital starting at 6.00pm.
The marketplace style ‘health fair’ will give residents in the county will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with a range of health and well being specialists at the event which brings together local partners with its own nursing and clinical specialists.
The aim is to demonstrate the range of services available to the public and to promote health and well being.
Participants will have the chance to talk with experts on a wide range of health issues including diabetes, dementia, cardiac rehabilitation, sexual health and end of life care.
Demonstrations will take place including CPR, the innovative ‘stay in the bay’ workstation for nurses and a simulation suit which shows the effects of frailty and confusion on vulnerable patients.
Organisations present will include Healthwatch Bucks, Macmillan Cancer Support, Active Bucks, Oxford Health NHS Trust and the South Central Ambulance Service.
The health fair, which starts at 6pm at the Hospital’s Education Centre will be followed by the Trust’s Annual General Meeting. Along with a review of the year, participants will also be able to hear about the Trust’s ambitious plans for the future and its vision to become one of the safest healthcare systems in the UK.
