Barnet were welcomed to Adams Park on Saturday 22nd October 2016 for a League Two match against Wycombe Wanderers.

Wycombe made a positive start to the match. In just the fifth minute Paris Cowan-Hall took a shot at goal, his header was close but missed to the right.

In the tenth minute both Joe Jacobson and Adebayo Akinfenwa made attempts on goal but their efforts were fruitless.

At half time the score was still goalless. Barnet took the lead in the sixty fifth minute when Mauro Vilhete took a right footed shot from the left of the box and placed the ball in the centre of the Wycombe goal.

Wycombe didn’t give up but in the third minute of extra time Barnet scored a second when John Akinde placed a right footed shot into the centre of the Wycombe goal.

Wycombe managed 57% possession compared to just 43% for Barnet, but it’s goals that matter and despite making ten shorts on goal, two of which were on target, Wycombe just couldn’t put the ball into the back of the Barnet net. Barnet took six shots on goal of which three were on target.

The match saw twenty eight fouls, thirteen by Wycombe players and fifteen by Barnet.

Wycombe slip to twenty fifth in League Two, perilously close to the relegation zone, having accumulated just fifteen points from fourteen games.

The attendance at Adams Park was 3,596 (250 from Barnet).
