Free car parking on offer to boost Christmas shopping in the Chiltern District

| December 2, 2016

Councillors at Chiltern District Council have decided to allow free parking in seven of the Council run car parks on the run up to Christmas 2016 to support local businesses during their busiest trading time.

Each year the Council offers five free days parking to all the towns and parishes in which they have car parks. The towns and parishes then decide when to use those days to suit their individual event calendars throughout the year. Seven of the council-run car parks will be waiving parking fees during the 2016 festive season.

The offer of free parking in seven selected Council run car parks will enable residents and visitors will be able to do their Christmas shopping, have a bite to eat or a warming cuppa without having to worry about the parking ticket running out.

Residents and visitors are reminded that those wishing to pay for their parking using their mobile phone will need to register using the smart phone RingGo app or via the website at www.RingGo.co.uk.

Further information on the free car parking offer can be found on the Chiltern District Council website and www.chiltern.gov.uk/parking.
