Hay bales caught fire in Holmer Green

Approximately 250 bales of hay caught fire in Holmer Green during the evening of Saturday 28th January 2017.

The hay bales were in an open barn, measuring about 35 metres by 20 metres, close to the junction of Winters Way and Penfold Lane, Holmer Green.

Firefighters were called to the incident at 5.28pm. One fire appliance with crew attended from High Wycombe fire station, one from Amersham fire station, one from Beaconsfield fire station and one from Gerrards Cross fire station. The Incident Command Unit from Aylesbury and two officers were also in attendance.

Three ground monitors (main jets fixed to the ground) were used during the operation to extinguish the fire.
