Buckinghamshire County Council Adoption Agency joins partnership to speed up adoption process
To help find loving families for vulnerable children the Buckinghamshire County Council Adoption Agency has entered into a partnership with other adoption agencies in the region.
Formed of ten local authority and voluntary adoption agencies across the East of England, the new partnership comprises organisations in Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Norfolk and Northamptonshire.

The initiative supports the Government’s drive to speed up the time it takes to find adopters for children waiting for a family.
The partnerships aims to help approved adoptive parents to find out more quickly about children who are waiting for a family across the whole region rather than just in their local area.
The agencies also hope it will help to recruit more adopters for children who often wait longer to be placed with a family, including children who are part of a sibling group, or from a black or minority ethnic background.
Lin Hazell, cabinet member for children’s services at Buckinghamshire County Council, said: ‘Combining the reach of councils and adoption agencies across the region will speed up the adoption process, meaning children in Buckinghamshire can be placed with loving families more quickly.‘
David Johnston Managing Director Children’s Social Care and Learning at Buckinghamshire County Council said: ‘This is a valuable opportunity for adoption agencies to work collaboratively and we would encourage people to come forward to find out more about adopting.‘
An information event will take place on Saturday 4th February 2017 for anyone who is interested in adoption or wants to find out more. It is taking place at the offices of one of the agencies involved in the partnership, Coram Cambridgeshire Adoption at Lincoln House, The Paddocks Business Centre, 2nd Floor, Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge CB1 8DH.
